AhlulBayt News Agency: Iran will send a young qari to Russia to take part in the country’s international Quran competition later this month.
According to the Quranic Affairs Center of Iran’s Awqaf and Charity Affairs Organization, reciter Seyed Mostafa Hosseini will represent the Islamic Republic in the Quranic event.
Russia’s Quran contest, known as the Moscow Quran reciting competition, has been held annually since 2000. Since year 2007 the competition became international.
The 20th edition of the competition had been scheduled to be held in 2019 but was postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Hosseini had been chosen by the Quranic Affairs Center to attend the competition in 2019 as Iran’s representative.
It is now scheduled to be organized in November 2022, and the center again introduced Hosseini as Iran’s contender.
Seyed Mostafa Hosseini was born in 1995 in the northern Iranian city of Qazvin.
He has so far competed for Iran in international Quran contests in Kuwait, Turkey and Malaysia, coming third, second and fourth in those Quranic events, respectively.
