AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): In the meeting of the Secretary of the National Security Council of Russia with the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, the development of strategic-economic cooperation between the two countries was emphasised and it was stated that strengthening regional cooperation is the best way to create peace and stability.
In a meeting with the Secretary of the Russian National Security Council, Nikolai Patrushev, on Wednesday, Ayatollah Dr Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi stated that Iran and Russia are determined to improve the level of strategic relations in various fields, and described these relations as being strengthened and its prospects clear, and added, "Cooperation of independent countries is the most decisive answer to the sanctions and destabilisation policy of the United States and its allies".
Ayatollah Raisi emphasised that the basic policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran is to oppose war, and stated, "The expansion of the scope and escalation of war is a cause of concern for all countries".
The Secretary of the National Security Council of Russia, Nikolai Patrushev, presented a report on the status of bilateral cooperation and emphasised, "We are working very actively to develop cooperation in the political, commercial, energy, agricultural and transit fields, and the Iran-Russia Joint Economic Commission is also following up the implementation of the agreements made between the Presidents of the two countries".
Expressing hope for the development of relations with the Islamic Republic in the form of regional assemblies and organisations, Patrushev stated, "The creation of a multipolar world is in line with the interests of all countries in the world".
