AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Ayatollah Abbas Ali Akhtari, a former representative of the Islamic Council and the Assembly of Leadership Experts, passed away.
Ayatollah Abbas Ali Akhtari, the representative of the people of Tehran in the Council of Leadership Experts and the former Friday Imam of Semnan passed away.
Ayatollah Akhtari who was the representative of the people of Mashhad in the 1st Islamic Consultative Assembly, and the representative of the people of Tehran and Shahr-e Ray in the 7th Islamic Consultative Assembly, was also a professor at university and seminary, researcher and author who left many works.
The late Akhtari, the father of martyr Noorallah Akhtari, was hospitalized for the past few days due to cancer.
Funeral and burial ceremony
According to the office of the late Ayatollah Abbas Ali Akhtari (r.a.), considering that he was the imam of the Jomhuri Grand Mosque in Tehran for many years, the funeral and farewell ceremony will be held tomorrow, Wednesday, November 2, 2022, at 9:00 a.m. first in front of the mentioned mosque, located on Jomhuri Eslami street. Then his body will be transferred to Shahr-e Ray, and the funeral procession will be started from the main square of the city towards the Holy Shrine of Hazrat Abd al-Azim al-Hasani (a.s.) and will be buried next to that tomb.
