Pakistani Shia cleric: Disagreements should be settled through dialogue

AhlulBayt News Agency: Seyyed Hashem Mousavi, prayer leader of Shia community in Quetta can live in peaceful coexistence and all their differences can be settled through dialogue.

Speaking at webinar on the second day of the 36th International Islamic Unity Conference, senior Pakistani cleric enumerated the commonalities of Islamic denominations as basis for unification of world Muslims.
 
He said,” If we do not get united, all bloods sacrificed will become useless and all the corruption existed in the past will appear again which will lead to great losses.”
 
The cleric called on all Muslims, whether Shiite, Sunni, Barelvi or Deobandi to become united and settle their disagreements through dialogue.
 
Seyyed Hashem Mousavi warned,” Adding weight to the differences will create enmity between us encouraging us to kill each other that is not accepted neither by religion nor by reason and ethical values.”
 
He hailed the late founder of Islamic Revolution, Imam Khomeini (RA) who called days between 12 to 17 of Rabi ul Aval that mark the auspicious birth anniversary of the Holy Prophet of Islam as the Islamic Unity Week as a move to join different Islamic denominations cross the world.
 
Senior Pakistani scholar also appreciated Supreme Leader of Islamic Republic,  Ayatollah Khamenei, for continuing the same path initiated by Imam Khomeini (RA).”

He expressed hope that the efforts to boost solidarity among Muslims will eventually lead to the desired end for instance Muslims can enjoy visa-free trips to other Islamic countries.
 
 
Pakistani cleric made the comments in an online meeting of Muslim intellectuals, religious figures and scholars held on the second day of the 36th International Islamic Unity Conference.
 
More than 150 Shia and Sunni scholars, professors and thinkers from across the globe are attending the 36th International Islamic Unity Conference held by World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought exchanging views on “Islamic Unity, Peace and Avoidance of Division and Conflict in the Islamic World” announced as the theme for the event.
