AhlulBayt News Agency: Hujjat-ul-Islam Seyyed Abdul Fattah Navvab, representative of the Supreme Leader in Hajj affairs highlighted the moral and jurisprudential teachings of religion and how they can divide or unite Muslims.
Expressing his views at the webinar on the second day of the 36th International Islamic Unity Conference, senior Iranian Shia cleric underscored the Islamic teachings and rituals which could lead to solidarity or dispersion among Muslims.
He called Islam as basically a religion of unity, harmony, integration and solidarity adding that all religious doctrines, their results and their works discuss both moral and jurisprudential teachings of Islam.
The cleric noted the considerable space allocated to love in view of Islam and that the beloved Prophet of Islam (PBUH) was a master of love for all people and that honesty, humbleness, kindness, consideration and cooperation were all used as the grounds for creation of affection among people.
He highlighted importance of congregational ceremonies in Islam no matter what school of thought the prayers are following.
Top cleric referred to the unifying aspects of Hajj, same clothing, same direction of prayer, same rituals and same time to perform the rituals as another aspect of Islam which congregates Muslims from different denominations together.
Hujjat-ul-Islam Seyyed Abdul Fattah Navvab rejected any supremacist view and said,”No one can say that only his words are in authority and power as the Holy Quran says that you should listen to the words and choose the best.”
Senior Iranian Shia cleric quoted several verses from the holy book of Islam and warned of quarrel, self-centeredness and anger which might sow discord among Muslims or different Islamic communities.
The achievement of the moral teachings of the religion and the achievement of the jurisprudential teachings of the religion, is the creation of solidarity and harmony among Muslims and all schools of thought; and that, whatever causes hypocrisy and hatred and distance from each other is negative and rejected in religious teachings.
Representative of the Supreme Leader in Hajj affairs delivered the speech at virtual meeting of the Shia and Sunni clerics attending 36th International Islamic Unity Conference held on Tuesday October 11.
36th International Islamic Unity Conference is held by Iran’s World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought on “Islamic Unity, Peace and Avoidance of Division and Conflict in the Islamic World” on October 10-15, 2022 as prominent Shia and Sunni scholars discuss the issues of Muslim world in online and in presence meetings held in the capital Tehran.
