Following the announcement of London's sanctions against several officials and units of an institution of the Islamic Republic of Iran, the British ambassador in Tehran, was summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran.
The British government, on Monday in an interventionist and proactive move, the UK government has imposed sanctions against Iran's Morality Police and some Iranian security officials in support of rioters.
In this meeting, Tehran's strong protest against the UK for interfering in the internal affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran was announced to the British ambassador and the interventionist action of that country was strongly condemned.
Also, the British ambassador was informed that the Islamic Republic of Iran reserves its right to take countermeasures, and Shercliffe said that he would immediately report the matter to London.
This is the third time in the last three weeks that the British ambassador has been summoned to Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
