London Muslims slam anti-revolution moves, desecration of Islamic values

Muslims living in London held a protest on Saturday to show their anger at the desecration of religious values and provocations against the Islamic Revolution.

AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Muslims living in London held a protest on Saturday to show their anger at the desecration of religious values and provocations against the Islamic Revolution.

The Muslim protesters, from different nations and ethnic groups, were mainly youth, who gathered outside the UK Islamic Center in a spontaneous move.

They carried placards condemning rioters and enemies of the revolution, waving flags reading the name of the third Shia Imam, Imam Hossein (AS).

The protesters chanted “no to humiliation” and denounced the desecration of religious sanctities, calling it intolerable.

The protest was backed by many mosques, as well as Islamic assemblies and centers.

It came a week after a group of people opposed to the revolution gathered outside the Iranian Embassy in London, attacking Arbaeen mourners and removing Muslim women’s veils.

Massoud Shajareh, Head of Human Rights Islamic Commission, told IRNA that the provocations by these people are Islamophobic, and that they relate any Muslim person to Iran.

That’s while, he added, the protesters taking part in the Saturday demonstration outside the UK Islamic Center say that the rioters have no right to show violence and disrespect for the religious ideals under the pretext of the latest developments in Iran.

After the last week riots outside the Iranian Embassy, London Police released images of 13 people involved in the unrest.

The London mayor also called the riots unacceptable.
