On the eve of Arbaeen of Imam Hussain (a.s.), Seminar of the International Dialogue was held by Arbaeen International Foundation in Karbala.
In the seminar, which was held in collaboration with Al-Hussain (a.s.) Comprehensive College and Iraqi Academics Syndicate (Karbala Branch), some of scholars from different countries presented their opinions.
Mr. Muhammad Mustahsan, one of the directors of AhlulBayt (a.s.) Assembly of Portugal, was one of the scholars attending in the seminar, who gave a speech on “The relation between the Ashura uprising and the religious democratic system”.
An excerpt from his speech in the mentioned seminar is as follows:
The Arbaeen pilgrimage of Imam Hussain is a fact that cannot be held without the auspicious of Imam Mahdi (a.s.).
Today millions of people from Iraq and different countries are moving towards Karbala. Many of them have started their journey from Najaf on foot towards Karbala.
Karbala is the land of Imam Hussain (a.s.) and we owed our pilgrimage today to the sacrifices of the martyrs Abu Mahdi Al-Muhandis, the General Suleimani, as well as thousands of other martyrs.
Islamic democratic system is an objective fact. Such a system can be established sometimes, and sometimes it is not feasible.
Now, what is important is the survival of the Islamic democratic system, that is, the Islamic Republic of Iran.
This system, which was a bud in the beginning, today has become a stout tree and has reached an ideal position.
However, when we say that the Islamic Republic is an ideal system, we admit that it does not mean that the political system of all Islamic countries should be same as it.
Democratic political structures can vary in different countries, but what is essential is adherence to principles.
Adhering to the principles, Imam Khomeini (r.a.) chose the Islamic democratic system.
The ideology of Imam Hussain (a.s.) and unity were two fundamental principles that Imam Khomeini (r.a.) shed light on and adhered to.
Today, the struggles of Imam Khomeini (r.a.) have been in the best way manifested in the leadership of Grand Ayatollah Khamenei, the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, and Grand Ayatollah Sistani.
Our duty is to follow the path of Imam Hussain (a.s.) under the leadership of Marjaiat (Sources of emulation), with the slogan “إن الحسین یجمعنا” (Indeed, Hussein unites us) and “لبیک یا حسین” (I respond to Your call O Hussain).
Hussain’s (a.s.) followers have no borders, rather, they are one nation under one flag. We are all Hussainis (the followers of Imam Hussain), and
We must work together to realize the dream of “United Ummah”.
Some of the prominent guests of the seminar were: Hojat al-Islam Sayed Ziauddin Al-Safi, Professor Abdul Amir Al-Quraishi, head of the Islamic Research Center of the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussain (a.s.), Hojat al-Islam Hamid Ahmadi, the head of the cultural and educational committee of the central headquarters of Arbaeen, Dr. Nasser Soudani, president of Amir al-Mominin University of Ahvaz and representative of this city in the Islamic Consultative Assembly (IRI’s Parliament), and Dr. Mounir al-Daaimi.
