A Tanzanian student of Al-Mustafa International University said the situation of Shia Muslims in the East African country has improved thanks to the victory of the Islamic Revolution.
Speaking to IQNA, Idi Saidi Wambua said prior to the Islamic Revolution, Shia Muslims in Tanzania were afraid of taking about their views and the teachings of the Shia school of thought.
But thanks to the leadership of late founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran Imam Khomeini (RA) and Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei, they are now proudly expressing their views, he stated.
He also said that there is a very good and friendly relation between Shia and Sunni Muslims in his country, highlighting the role of the Ahl-ul-Bayt (AS) World Assembly in strengthening the ties between the two schools of thought.
Elsewhere, Wambua, who recently attended the 7th Summit of the General Assembly of Ahl-ul-Bayt World Assembly, described the programs at the gathering as very good.
He said such events provide a venue for Shia Muslims from all over the world to know one another and learn about new ideas about promoting Islam.
The gathering was held in Tehran and the northeastern holy city of Mashhad earlier this month with the motto of “Ahl-ul-Bayt (AS); Pivot of Rationality, Justice and Dignity”.
Hundreds of guests, including scholars and religious figures, from more than 110 countries took part in the assembly.
