The Cleanliness Division intensified its efforts during the Ziyarat Arba'een, as it aims to maintain the cleanliness of the area around the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine.
Mr. Mustafa Ahmed Hassan, the head of the Cleanliness Division in the Service Affairs Department, said, "Our staff works during the Ziyarat 24 hours a day divided into three shifts (morning, evening and night) in order to ensure the cleanliness of the surroundings of the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine, " adding, " Besides our staff there are volunteers who came to participate in the service of visitors, most of whom are experienced in our field and those who had participation in previous Ziyarats ."
He continued, "every year during the Ziyarat Arba'een, we follow a smooth mechanism to remove waste from the areas surrounding the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine in order to ensure the smooth flow of visitors' movement, " noting that " the Service Affairs Department provided all what the Division needs to accomplish its duties on the days of the Ziyarat ."
"The staff of our Division has prepared the underground floors at the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine for volunteers, where they will stay until the end of the Ziyarat rituals, and we are working daily to create many prayer places in the vicinity of the holy shrine," Hassan said .
The official of the Cleanliness Division pointed out, "coordination was established between our Division and the processions located on Abbas Street on how to collect waste, as we provided the processions with large numbers of garbage bags."
