AhlulBayt News Agency: Al Mustafa International University and Uganda’s Kampala University have signed a Memorandum of Understanding aimed at improving bilateral academic cooperation.
The document was signed in a ceremony in Kampala, Uganda, on Tuesday by Head of Al-Mustafa International University Hojat-ol-Islam Ali Abbasi and Vice Chancellor of Kampala University Proffessor Badru D. Kateregga.
Exchanging professors, boosting joint scientific cooperation, and developing e-learning courses are among provisions of the signed MoU.
Addressing the meeting, Kateregga noted that the African university has five campuses inside Uganda as well as two others in Kenya and Rwanda which host a total of some 10,000 students.
Pointing to the history of ties with Al Mustafa International University and the Iranian embassy in Uganda on various programs such as holding Quran competitions and organizing Persian language courses, the professor hoped that the new MoU would pave the way for increased ties between the two sides.
Abbasi, for his part, touched upon few characteristics of Al Mustafa International University, noting that tens of thousands of students from 130 countries are taking courses at different branches of the academic center.
According to him, the university has signed more than 200 MoUs with universities across the world.
Al-Mustafa International University is a religious and Islamic university established to expand and introduce Islamic and religious teachings to the world through modern facilities and technologies.
It is a scholarly and educational institution that like other such institutions strives to develop thought and help society and humanity.
It is known internationally and has trained many prominent scholars and researchers.
