AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): In a message to the 7th General Assembly of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly, Adil Abdul Mahdi, the former Iraqi Prime Minister, stated, “The AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly was established on the initiative of Imam Khamenei, and since then Mujahid Ulama have taken the leadership of this Assembly.”
“During the days of Arbaeen, millions of people go to Karbala to renew their allegiance to Imam Hussain (a.s.),” he continued.
“The main essence of the battle in the world is the battle between the global expansionist system and the countries that want independence. Anyone who seeks independence in the world will be attacked, and only those who play within the framework of the hegemonic system will be accepted by this system,” added the former prime minister of Iraq.
Referring to the recent events in Iraq, Adil Abdul Mahdi said, “In recent days, we witnessed that the enemies were following the Shia-Shia war to weaken Iraq and separate the country from the affairs of the Islamic Ummah. A lot of money has been spent on this project.”
“The enemies thought that they could advance their goals in Iraq through the Baath party and terrorists. Even ISIS reached the vicinity of Baghdad. But the Jihad Kafai Fatwa (by Ayatollah Sistani) changed the situation. Iran also supported Iraq by sending weapons and military logistics. As a result, the advance of ISIS was stopped. At the same time, Al-Hashd al-Shaabi was established,” he continued.
“The recent conflicts in Iraq will not end in a Shiite-Shiite war. Iraq is the land of God’s prophets and the people of the country have insight and knowledge. Iraq is the land of Marjaiat and Marjaiat does not allow the situation to get out of control. The nomads of Iraq also adhere to the Marjaiat’s fatwa, and this prevents the Shiite-Shiite war,” added the former prime minister of Iraq.
Referring to the relationship between sources of emulation in the Shiite world, Adil Abdul Mahdi stated, “The Marjaiat of Iraq has a good relationship with the Marjaiat of Iran. Grand Ayatollah Sistani and Grand Ayatollah Khamenei both emphasize unity.”
“Civil wars are usually over belief or land. These factors are not the case of Iraq. The main challenge in the country is the conflict over power, which must be resolved. Although there are factors of conflict over power, but due to the social context of Iraq, it is possible to prevent conflicts,” he concluded, “From any crisis, we must come out stronger to frustrate the enemies.”
