AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Iran's President described Iraq's initiatives and measures to improve the cooperation environment among the countries of the region without the interference of outsiders as effective in strengthening the regional integration and said, "The rebuilding and strengthening of Saudi Arabia's relations with Iran is in the interest of the security of the region".
Speaking in a meeting with Fuad Hussein, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iraq, on Monday evening, Ayatollah Dr Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi stated that security and stability in Iraq can only be established through dialogue between all the political currents of the country, based on the constitution and in order to reach an understanding on the formation of a new government to solve the problems of the Iraqi nation, stressing, "The religious authorities play a very important role in this regard".
The President appreciated the Iraqi government's consultations on regional affairs and added, "Iraq's initiatives and measures to improve the atmosphere of cooperation among regional countries without the interference of outsiders will be effective in strengthening regional integration".
Dr Raisi described the five rounds of dialogue between Iran and Saudi Arabia with the mediation of Iraq as useful, and emphasised that with the completion of the implementation of the previous agreements, the path will be paved for the promotion of interactions.
The head of the Supreme National Security Council also said, "Rebuilding and strengthening relations between Saudi Arabia and Iran is beneficial to the security of the region".
In this meeting, Fuad Hussein, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iraq, also expressed his appreciation for the continuous and decisive support of the Islamic Republic of Iran in establishing stability and security in Iraq, as well as the completion of the political process of forming a new government in the country.
He also stressed the continuation of the Iraqi government's role in improving relations between Iran and Saudi Arabia and presented a detailed report in this regard.
