Iranian Sunni scholars visit Lebanon for interfaith meeting

A delegation of Iranian Sunni scholars has visited Lebanon in a bid to attend interfaith meetings with religious and tribal leaders from the Arab country.

AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): A delegation of Iranian Sunni scholars has visited Lebanon in a bid to attend interfaith meetings with religious and tribal leaders from the Arab country.

Mohsen Meschi, head of Iran Deputy at World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought in an interview with Taqrib News Agency said the visit was made in line with expansion of meetings between Iranian Sunni clerics and religious leaders from different countries.
 
He referred to the Indian and Lebanese delegations visiting the religious figures at World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought last year and said the meeting of Iranian Sunni clerics is carried out in response to an invitation form Lebanese scholars.
 
He said the trip aims to scientific, cultural and religious cooperation between Iranian and Lebanese scholars.
 
Mamusta Sheikh Abdul Rahman Moradi, Friday prayer leader of Kermanshah, Mamusta Abdul Salam Emami, Friday prayer leader of Mahabad and advisor of western Azerbaijan governor and also Seyyed Yahya Fazeli Hosseini are the members of Iranian Sunni delegations visiting Lebanon.
 
Iranian scholars have scheduled to visit scientific, cultural and religious centers in Lebanon and also meet with a number of elites and scholars from the country during the trip.
 
Visiting Iranian clerics met with Abdel Rahman al-Helou, prominent Lebanese elite and dean of the faculty of theology at the University of Beirut and highlighted the unifying diplomacy of Islamic Republic of Iran in promoting solidarity and compassion among Muslims.
 
Abdul Salam Emami, in this meeting stressed," Like Lebanese nation with their various denominations, cultures and ethnicities, Iranian people live in coexistence, fraternity and freedom."
 
Meeting with heads of religious and ethnical groups in Lebanon and also different scholars is among the schedules for visiting Iranian delegation.
