Imam Reza holy shrine museums exemplary across Islamic world: Nigerian Ambassador

Nigerian ambassador and Pakistan embassy’s first secretary have paid a visit to the holy shrine and Carpets Museum.

AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Nigerian ambassador and Pakistan embassy’s first secretary have paid a visit to the holy shrine and Carpets Museum.

“I’ve never experienced such a feeling anywhere else”, said Jacob Solomon, the Nigerian ambassador to Tehran, referring to the rare spiritual feeling upon entry into Imam Reza holy shrine.

Stressing that the holy shrine museums are exemplary throughout the Islamic world, he continued: “While watching the priceless carpets in the museum, I paid special attention to their motifs and patterns, which are the result of Iranians’ hard work over the years. It was really enjoyable”.

According to the Nigerian diplomat, the architecture of the museum, the way the precious ancient carpets was preserved, and beauty of the Iranian art put into them were so mesmerizing that “I haven’t felt the passage of time”.

He further expressed hope that all Muslims should have the opportunity to visit the northeastern Iranian city of Mashhad and see the Iranian-Islamic artistic masterpiece in the museums of the holy shrine.

Elsewhere on the sidelines of the visit, Kheirat, Pakistan embassy’s first secretary in Tehran, said it was his first visit to carpets museum, adding: “The old hand-woven carpets are preserved under special circumstances in the museum. Their colors, patterns and delicacy have spiritually touched me”.

The Pakistani diplomat concluded: “Whereas the traditional art of carpet weaving is in its death throes, Imam Reza holy shrine has reinvigorated this valuable art in the magnificent carpets museum, and strives to promote it, which is laudable”.
