Iran’s Islamic Development organized 12,000 Quranic circles in Ramadan month

An official with Iran’s Islamic Development Organization said it organized some 12,000 Quranic circles all over the country during the holy month of Ramadan.

AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): An official with Iran’s Islamic Development Organization said it organized some 12,000 Quranic circles all over the country during the holy month of Ramadan.

Sheikh Mehdi Akhavan Sabbaq said it also held 1,800 Quran interpretation programs in the holy month, which ended last week.

According to the cleric, they were organized with the two mottos of “Hope in God” and “Month of Hope” with the aim of promoting closeness to the Holy Quran and inspiring hope in society.

The organization set up 15 work groups to implement the programs in line with the policies of the Jihad of Tabyin (struggle to explain/clarify, which has been emphasized by the Leader of the Islamic Revolution), he added.

One of the work groups helped to organize Quranic programs for children and teenagers, the official noted.

He added that the other work groups included those related to religious propagation, activities in mosques, specialized teaching, home sessions, and religious denominations.

Ramadan is the ninth month in the Islamic calendar. It is a period of prayer, fasting, charity giving and self–accountability for Muslims around the world.

During Ramadan, Muslims fast (abstain from foods and drinks) from sunrise to sunset.

They also devote a considerable amount of time during this month to reading and contemplating the Quran.

The Quran was revealed to the Holy Prophet’s (PBUH) heart in Ramadan.
