AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): The President referred to the efforts of the government and coordination with other branches to improve the economic situation of the country and said, "After seven months of intensive expert work and consultation with the elites, decisions have been taken in favour of the national economy and I will soon talk with the people about it".
Speaking after the meeting of the Supreme Council of Economic Coordination on Saturday evening, Ayatollah Dr Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi said that the three principles that the government considers in implementing important economic decisions are "consensus among officials", "persuasion of public opinion, elites and people" and "protecting the interests of the people, especially the deprived".
He said, "As I promised, we will inform people about the government's decisions, and I have told my colleagues in the cabinet to inform the public about the government's decisions, and I myself will speak to the people about this soon".
Referring to the meeting of the Supreme Council of Economic Coordination, Dr Raisi added, "This very meeting is one of the manifestations of coordination and consensus building for major economic decisions in the country".
Emphasising that the plan to "popularise" foreign exchange subsidies for basic goods is a necessary step, given the legal requirement of the 1401 budget and the special global conditions, the President said, "The government is alongside the people and considers supporting their interests and livelihood as its red line".
Ayatollah Raisi referred to the government's round-the-clock efforts and extensive planning and coordination with the parliament and the judiciary to improve the country's economic situation and said, "After seven months of intensive expert work and consultation with the elites, decisions have been taken in favour of the national economy and I will soon talk with the people about it".
