AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): The Institute of the Holy Quran in Najaf, affiliated to the scientific complex of the Holy Quran at the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine, announced the establishment of (17) Khatma of the Holy Quran in the holy city of Najaf and its districts and areas, which began since the advent of the holy month and continues until its end with the participation of a group of readers of the province.
The director of the institute, Mr. Muhannad al-Mayali, stated: "based on the words of Imam al-Baqer (peace be upon him): ”Everything has a (period of) spring, and the spring of the Quran is the month of Ramadhan”, the institute began to establish several Khatmas in different areas of the province, as part of the plan of the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine to commemorate this holy month, and its Quranic orientations aimed at spreading and rooting the culture of the Holy Quran in society. We held these Khatmas in Hussayniyat and mosques as a starting point.”
"The Khatmas witness daily recitation of a part [Juz’] of the Holy Quran, where a dedicated place was created in each mosque or Hussayniya and provided with copies of the Holy Quran, so that participants can follow up with readers," he explained.
