Ayatollah Ramazani: Polytheism, hypocrisy, greatest harm to faith

Pointing out that the greatest harm to faith is polytheism and hypocrisy, the Secretary-General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly said, “A religious society is not a society of poverty, but a society that fights poverty.”

AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Pointing out that the greatest harm to faith is polytheism and hypocrisy, the Secretary-General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly said, “A religious society is not a society of poverty, but a society that fights poverty.”

At dawn on Sunday, April 24, 2022, the vigil of the Night of Destiny (Laylat al-Qadr) on twenty-third night of the holy month of Ramadan in the Hashemi Mosque in Rasht, Ayatollah Ramazani referring to a hadith from Imam Reza (a.s.) regarding the importance of benefiting from the holy month of Ramadan, stated “The reward of Ramadan is servitude and service at a higher level.”

“In the holy month of Ramadan, God has invited us to his feast. We must take full advantage of this blessed month with sincerity, servitude and service to the people,” added the Secretary-General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly.

“If a person intentionally breaks his fast, the spirit of faith leaves him,” he clarified, “Of course, many are excused from fasting, which is not the case with them.”

“Some people fast only by not eating or drinking. While others cannot fast like this. But their tongue, eyes and ears are fasting, which is appreciable,” Ayatollah Ramazani emphasized.

Pointing out that fasting leads man to wisdom, and wisdom leads man to understanding (of divine matters), the representative of the people of Gilan in the Assembly of Experts said, “Understanding causes man to reach the certainty (in his faith).”

“In the subject of godliness, sincerity is the result of a kind of liberation,” he added, “When the fasting person understands the truth of fasting, he becomes certain (in his faith) and easily endures hardships.”

“We must remember the martyrs because they provided a blessed atmosphere in the world for us. We must make the best use of the opportunity provided to us by the fighters, veterans, and martyrs of the Holy Defense (Iraq’s eight-year imposed war against Iran) and the Defenders of the Holy Shrines (those who martyred in battles against Takfiri terrorists in Iraq and Syria),” Ayatollah Ramazani clarified in another part of his speech.

“Thanks to the Islamic Republic, Islam and Muslims are proud in the world today, and we are witnessing developments of the discourse of the Islamic Revolution in the world,” pointed out the Secretary-General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly.

“Authorities should work to address the people’s problems,” he said, “The people, as a pillar of the Islamic system, must be supported.”

“Islam with a comprehensive understanding, position of Velayat and Leadership, and “people” are the three pillars of the Islamic system, and maintaining these pillars increases security,” Ayatollah Ramazani emphasized.

“Man can grow and attain salvation if he himself does not hinder his growth. Man’s ignorance of God, and carnal vices, are among the obstacles that turn us away from God,” stated the representative of the people of Gilan in the Assembly of Experts.

“On the Night of Destiny (Laylat al-Qadr), most of all, we must ask forgiveness from our relatives and acquaintances. On these nights, one year of human destiny is written and recorded. On this night, the destinies of human beings are determined based on their attitudes, thoughts, and morals,” he added.

“One of the problems of human beings is lack of honest intention,” Ayatollah Ramazani added, “Only God helps man, and for this reason we should not have false intentions.”

“A religious society is not a society of poverty, but a society that fights poverty,” the Secretary-General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly said, pointing out that the poverty should removed from a religious society.

“Where there are pretentious people and poverty at the same time, the problem is with the pretentious people,” he mentioned, “In addition to trying to eradicate poverty, the begging of people who beg as a habit must be confronted.”

“We have suffered the most from hypocrisy, and the greatest harm to faith is polytheism and hypocrisy,” Ayatollah Ramazani said, stressing the need of being kind to others.

“Belief arises when a person has reached heart knowledge,” the representative of the people of Gilan in the Assembly of Experts stated, “We must surrender ourselves to God and we must not distance ourselves from our guardian.”

“Our worship is very far from the worship of Imam Ali (a.s.). On the Nights of Destiny, we must ask God to help us and separate us from our attachment to the (material) world,” he said.

“Superficial beliefs, immoral traits, and bad deeds are among the obstacles that prevent man from ascending,” Ayatollah Ramazani stated.

“If the inner thoughts, beliefs, morals and actions of a person are bad, he will be present in the worst way on the Day of Judgment,” he said, “Action and agent are united on the Day of Judgment, and they cannot be separated.”

Referring to the characteristics of arrogance and selfishness, the Secretary-General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly concluded, “The arrogant person is the wood of hell, and even hell avoids the arrogant person.”
