Some 2500 Quranic teachers, 35,000 pupils, and more than 250 Quranic institutions have registered to enter the competition. Overall, 50,000 candidates from 54 countries have participated in the event.

A jury committee comprising of Quranic experts from Iran, Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, etc. is in charge of evaluating the works of the contestants.

As for the reason why Imam Reza holy shrine took the initiative to run the event, Zolfaghari added: “The holy shrine’s special capacities regarding the Holy Quran have spurred the officials to administer a Quranic event”.
