AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): 80,000 Palestinian worshipers performed the first Friday prayer of the holy month of Ramadan at the Al-Aqsa Mosque in Occupied al-Quds, despite the Israeli strict measures.
Following the Friday prayer, thousands gathered in the compound’s courtyards and chanted pro-resistance and anti-occupation slogans.
During the Friday sermon, the preacher of Al-Aqsa Mosque Sheikh Ikrima Sabri stressed that the large participation in the first Friday prayer of the holy month of Ramadan reminds the Muslims all over the world of the occupied holy Mosque.
This large Palestinian presence at al-Aqsa is a clear message to the occupation that Al-Aqsa is not subject to either negotiation or concession, he said.
Earlier Friday, Israeli occupation authorities imposed more restrictions on West Bankers' entry to the al-Aqsa Mosque compound in al-Quds on the first Friday prayer in the holy month of Ramadan.
Large numbers of Palestinians, above the age of 50, were stopped and prevented from crossing Qalandia checkpoint, north of Occupied al-Quds, although the Israeli liaison office with the Palestinians allowed men over the age of 50 and women of all ages to attend the Friday prayer.
Israeli forces, stationed at Qalandia checkpoint, demanded special permits to allow West Bankers' entry, eyewitnesses reported.
3,200 Israeli police officers were deployed across the occupied city of al-Quds.
