Quranic Khatmas held by women's religious division at al-Abbas shrine

The Qur'anic unit of the women's religious guidance division at the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine has launched a number of Qur'anic khatmas since the start of the holy month as part of a plan developed for this purpose, which aims to spread the culture of the book of God among women.

AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): The Qur'anic unit of the women's religious guidance division at the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine has launched a number of Qur'anic khatmas since the start of the holy month as part of a plan developed for this purpose, which aims to spread the culture of the book of God among women.

"The month of Ramadhan is one of the important worship seasons, so we are keen –as a unit - and in line with the directives of His Eminence, the Senior Official of the al-Abbas’s (p) holy shrine, the need to pay attention to the recitation and contemplation of the book of God, we set out to establish Quranic khatmas inside and outside the holy shrine," said the unit's official Fatima al-Moussawi.

"There are two women's khatmas held at different times inside the basement of the al-Abbas’s (p) Holy Shrine (the basement of Imam al-Kadhem peace be upon him), the first is held at half past nine in the morning and the second at half past two in the afternoon, where a group of visitors attend, and at the same time another forum is held in the Maqam of Imam Mahdi (May Allah hasten his holy reappearance) dedicated to his visitors," she added.

Al-Moussawi explained that "the recitation forums were not limited to this matter only, but there are other activities such as the establishment of Quranic, doctrinal and ideological competitions with the provision of gifts to the winners after the draw daily, in addition to reading the supplications of the holy month of Ramadhan and religious lectures as well as the revival of events that intersect the, as well as the revival of the Blessed nights of fate [Qadr]".

"The activities were not limited to attendance events, but there were electronic Quranic activities and events, such as the program (piety of Hearts), an educational program to read the Holy Quran for all those who could not attend in these forums, as well as there is a competition that includes asking a question daily to be announced the results and the names of the winners and the delivery of gifts at the end of the holy month," she said.

"The unit also has Quranic forums in a number of neighborhoods of Karbala province, and we work daily to maintain communication with it, for the purpose of perpetuating this Quranic giving and contributing to expanding it," she concluded.
