Iran reacts to Saudi envoy’s anti-Iranian accusations

Head of Iran's Interest Section in Cairo Naser Kanaani in reaction to the Saudi envoy’s anti-Iranian accusations said on Thursday that using distractions and repeating baseless claims against the Islamic Republic of Iran will not solve a problem from Saudi Arabia and the region.

Kanaani made the remarks on Thursday in reaction to the Saudi Arabia envoy's baseless claims and accusations against the Islamic Republic of Iran in an interview with Egypt's Al-Akhbar newspaper.

He emphasized that the Saudi ambassador's accusations in Cairo to Iran about meddling in the affairs of regional states are completely rejected, adding that the practical policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran is based on non-interference in the internal affairs of other nations and respect for the independence and sovereignty of countries while supporting the oppressed.

In both its stances and in practice, Iran has proved that it stands with national governments and nations in the region and opposes the use of force and terrorist methods to create instability in the region.

Pointing to the Yemeni issues, he highlighted that the main reason for the Yemeni crisis is because of illegal Saudi military aggression against the Muslim people of Yemen for 7 years.

Obviously, Iran welcomes any Saudi decision to move forward with talk and cooperation rather than conflict, as improving relations and cooperation between the two states can benefit not only the two countries but also the whole region, he underscored.
