The Iranian foreign minister said that the statements of a high-ranking Saudi official on relations with Iran show the desire of Saudi Arabia to establish bilateral relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran.

AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): The Iranian foreign minister said that the statements of a high-ranking Saudi official on relations with Iran show the desire of Saudi Arabia to establish bilateral relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran.

In an interview with The Atlantic, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman expressed hope that the talks between Iran and Saudi Arabia would be good for both sides and set a bright future.

Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian added: "After Riyadh decided to cut ties with Iran, this relationship was severed, but these relations have been almost constant in previous years and have been accompanied by Iran's invitation to improve relations."

The Iranian foreign minister stressed: "Iran has different views and approaches in some issues in the region, but relationships have a long history."

Amir Abdollahian added: "Last year, Iran held four rounds of talks with Saudi Arabia, and although these talks had little results, the continuation of the process can lead to positive results in improving relations and cooperation in favor of the two countries."

Regarding the Yemeni crisis, Amir-Abdollahian underlined: "The Yemeni solution is political and based on the Yemeni-Yemeni dialogue and not foreign interference, and it will only be achieved through the end of the siege and war."
