AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Egypt’s Al-Azhar Islamic Center is going to begin its four-year plan for memorization of the Quran.
The in-person program will kick off on Thursday, the center announced, Youm7.com website reported.
It is implemented at the center’s headquarters in Cairo and its branches elsewhere.
In order to prevent the spread of the coronavirus, health protocols, including wearing masks and maintaining social distancing, will be strictly observed, Al-Azhar said.
Back in November, the center had resumed one-year and two-year Quran memorization plans.
Al-Azhar is a historical mosque and Islamic center in Cairo. A Fatimid Caliph commissioned its construction for the newly established capital city in 970 C.E. It was the first mosque established in the city.
