AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): The head of Iran’s Dar-ol-Quran Organization stressed the importance of organizing a major Quranic plan in the country in the holy month of Ramadan.
Mehdi Akhavan Sabaq said that a coordinated and large-scale Quranic program should be planned and implemented in the country during Ramadan.
Ramadan is the ninth month in the Islamic calendar. It is a period of prayer, fasting, charity giving and self–accountability for Muslims around the world.
During Ramadan – which will fall in April this year- Muslims fast (abstain from foods and drinks) from sunrise to sunset.
They also devote a considerable amount of time during this month to reading and contemplating the Quran.
Elsewhere in his remarks, Akhavan Sabaq referred to the activities of the Dar-ol-Quran Center and said more than 14,000 Quran institutes affiliated to the center organize Quranic programs in cities and towns across the country.
He called for more cooperation with the center from municipalities in order to enhance the quality and quantity of the programs.
