Aiken Muslim Association open new small Mosque on Trolley Line Road, South Carolina

The Aiken Muslim Association recently opened a new Masjid (small Mosque) in Aiken city of South Carolina, USA.

AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): The Aiken Muslim Association recently opened a new Masjid (small Mosque) in Aiken city of South Carolina, USA. On Dec. 9, a delegation from the Aiken Unitarian Universalist Church welcomed some of the leaders to the neighborhood with a gift of prayer rugs.

The Rev. Debra Guthrie; Sandy Hochel, with Social Justice Committee; and Bill Robinson, a member of the church board; represented the Aiken Unitarian Universalist Church.

George Clare, the Abulrazzaaq family and the Salaymeh family represented the Islamic Association.

Guthrie said her church is delighted to have this new faith community right down the road from them.

“We are looking forward to some wonderful opportunities to join in fellowship and create relationships with people having diverse perspectives,” she said. “Our lives are enriched by the wonderful variety of faiths and cultures that surround us; the more people I get to know with backgrounds and perspectives unlike mine, the happier I am living in such an amazing world.”

Clare from the Muslim association said the Masjid is being refurbished at present but that followers have access to the center for the five daily prayers. The Masjid is located at the intersection of Trolley Line Road and Gregg Avenue in South Carolina, USA.

Once refurbishment is complete the Association is planning an open house to celebrate with the community.
