A webinar entitled "General Soleimani Against Terrorism," was held in Brasília with the presence of Iran's Ambassador to Brazil and a number of Brazilian elites.

In the webinar held on Monday, the Iranian ambassador congratulated the New Year and elaborated on late General Qassem Soleimani's actions in defending the oppressed people.

Hossein Gharibi said the absence of Iran's top anti-terror commander was felt much more these days, adding that he played a key role in the re-establishment of peace and stability at the regional and international level.

Gharibi noted that the West Asian region owed its security to martyr Soleimani's fights against international terrorism and terrorist groups.

He further said that the Islamic Republic of Iran had an influential role in maintaining peace and stability in the region and that the new administration in the country would welcome the neighbors for extensive cooperation.

Also, the Brazilian historian Kairos said the Islamic Republic did not belong just to Iran but was inspiring all freedom- and independence-seekers worldwide.

Yesterday, Monday, was the second martyrdom anniversary of Iran's IRGC Quds Force Commander Lt. Gen. Qassem Soleimani, known as the international hero of the fight against terrorism.

General Soleimani, the commander of the Quds Force of Iran's Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC), and Iraq's Popular Mobilization Units (PMU) deputy head Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis were assassinated along with their companions in a US drone strike authorized by former President Donald Trump near Baghdad International Airport on January 3, 2020.

They were highly popular because of their key role in eliminating the US-backed ISIS terrorist group in the region, particularly in Iraq and Syria.

General Soleimani was assassinated by the US while he was in Baghdad at the official invitation of the Iraqi government.
