Spanish expert: Fight for religion freedom, independence Soleimani's legacy

Yusuf Fernandez, a Spanish analyst, said that the legacy of the late General Qasem Soleimani was fight for freedom and independence of the West Asian people.

AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Yusuf Fernandez, a Spanish analyst, said that the legacy of the late General Qasem Soleimani was fight for freedom and independence of the West Asian people.

In an interview with Islamic Republic News Agency correspondent in Madrid on Monday, Fernandez said that former IRGC Qods Force commander General Soleimani's assassination was widely condemned throughout the world and that's why it undermined US position in the region to a large extent.

Fernandez mentioned US withdrawal from Afghanistan as a scandalous failure for Washington after twenty years of war in which the US failed to defeat Taliban in one of the longest wars in US history.

The US has pulled out a significant number of its forces from Iraq, but thousands of American forces have still remained in the country although rejected by Iraqi people, the Spanish analyst said.

The secretary of Spain's Muslim Federation said that the people of Lebanon, Syria, and Palestine owe General Soleimani a lot because he helped them stand against extremist movements and destroyed the untouchability of the Zionist regime.

He also touched on the talks held in Vienna between Iran and the P4+1, saying that the US failed to impose its will on Iranians through sanctions and now it is Tehran that has specified what is acceptable in these negotiations and what is not.

General Soleimani and former Iraqi Mobilization Unit Forces commander Abu Mahdi Al-Muhandis along with eight other companions were assassinated by the US army in a terrorist drone attack on January 3, 2020.

The attack was carried out at the direct order of former US President Donald Trump.
