AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Secretary General of World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought stressed importance of proximity meetings and close cooperation among elites from different denominations warning of enemies bringing chaos between Shia and Sunni communities.
Attending an Islamic unity summit held in Iran's Cultural Center in Lahore, Pakistan, Sheikh Hamid Shahriari warned of enemies endeavoring to undervalue efforts to promote peace and fraternity by Muslim scholars.
Sheikh Hamid Shahriari delivered the key speech at the summit saying,"Shia Sunni unity is the major strategy to beat the anti-Islam plots".
He highlighted importance of Islamic proximity in view of the Islamic Republic of Iran and noted,"To convene Muslims, beyond religious and ideological tendencies, is the best move to achieve common objectives".
Iranian seminary professor said,"Today the great achievement of unity and solidarity among Islamic denominations is manifested in the anti-Zionist front where Shia and Sunni are joint to foil provocations by illegal Israeli regime".
The cleric stressed importance of proximity meetings, interaction between religious elites and added,"Enemies are struggling to undervalue efforts by Muslim scholars to promote peace and fraternity" warning," They use their thugs to bring chaos between Shia and Sunni."
Sheikh Hamid Shahriari reiterated importance of mission of religious elites and Muslim scholars for highlighting commonalities of denominations and identifying enemies.
He urged world Muslims to unite against the world arrogant powers and enemies who intend to loot the assets in Islamic countries.
Secretary General of World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought also called on the Muslim nation of Pakistan to maintain the religious values and voice disavowal of the dividing factors in order to mutually respect each other's beliefs and take steps to boost fraternity among themselves.
Participants in this meeting stressed that the major issue in the world of Islam is that Islamic denominations are distanced from each other while several commonalities can join them.
Molavi Nazir Ahmad Salami, Iranian Sunni member at the Assembly of Experts, Morteza Forati, Acting Consul General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Lahore, Jafar Ronas, director of Iran's Cultural Center in Lahore, Mohsen Meschi, deputy of Iran affairs at World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought, Morteza Bayat, director of Taqrib News Agency (TNA) and also Esmaeel Nouri, international deputy at World Forum were the Iranian participants to this meeting.
Representatives of different Islamic denominations, directors of seminaries and Shia and Sunni education centers, cultural figures, university professors hailed the struggles by the Islamic Republic of Iran to promote common objectives in the world of Islam and boosting the relation among Islamic denominations.
A number of religious and political authorities from Pakistan and also the Iranian delegation of religious and cultural figures, led by Sheikh Hamid Shahriari, attended the Islamic unity meeting at Iran's Cultural Center in Lahore.
