AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Deputy for Communications of Iranian Vice President for Legal Affairs has in a letter to the United Nations General Assembly stressed that the immunity of the perpetrators behind the assassination of government officials and diplomats is posing a threat to the international peace and urged the body to issue a statement condemning those responsible for assassination of Iran's great IRGC commander Lieutenant General Qasem Soleimani.
The Iranian official pointed to the elapse of two years since the unbelievable assassination of General Soleimani who was an Iranian citizen and senior official when he was a diplomatic mission in Iraq.
Noting that the then US administration explicitly claimed responsibility for ordering and committing the internationally violent crime, he said that in spite of the United Nations Charter which prohibits governments from engaging in acts that are detrimental to international peace and security, unfortunately, for years, many world governments has seen the rise of extreme unilateralism of the United States government, which reserves itself the right to violate any international charters and rules and regulations.
The senior Iranian official went on to urge the UNAG to take all legal initiatives within its powers, including the adoption of a resolution, to condemn the assassination of government and diplomatic officials.
