AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): The chief custodian of Astan Quds Razavi has urged the scientific and research activities of AQR to permeate society and meet the public demands.
In a meeting on the occasion of ‘Research and Technology Week’ and in commemoration of Seminary and University Unity Day, Hoj, Ahmad Marvi declared that the Shia community had to embody science, knowledge, wisdom, and courtesy.
AQR’s chief custodian also emphasized the necessity of pragmatism for managers, noting that “we need to get rid of ‘do’ and ‘don’t’ from the managerial discourse, and report on our performance instead as a witness to what we have accomplished”.
Hoj, Marvi further appreciated the diligence of researchers in AQR’s scientific circles to create priceless works. “There are various scientific and cultural sectors in the entire organization that produce numerous journals. However, these journals have to be directed via a think tank, which monitors things, organize tasks and pave the way for journals in different fields”.
Stating that the number of journals and magazines was not something to pride on, the top official warned that a merely quantitative look would do a huge damage to science and culture. “The significance of a magazine is measured if it can prominently fill a vacuum in science, where quality takes precedence over quantity”.
He stressed on the scientific authority of Astan Quds Razavi and the need to establish a mutual connection with other scientific and cultural organizations, assemblies and figures in society, expressing, “scientific authority won’t materialize merely through propaganda and slogans, rather practical measures are required”.
Hoj. Marvi concluded that pragmatic research is needed to address demands in society and urged that AQR’s scientific, research, and cultural activities should flow across society.
Elsewhere in the commemoration ceremony, the head of Scientific and Cultural Organization of Astan Quds Razavi, Abdolhamid Talebi, appreciated the top researchers of the organization.
Drawing attention to AQR’s scientific authority with the establishment of Razavi University of Islamic Sciences, Imam Reza International University, and Islamic Research Foundation of Astan Quds Razavi in the wake of 1979 Islamic Revolution, Talebi expressed hope that the country’s scientific community would greatly benefit from AQR’s services after assimilation of outstanding researchers and scholars from seminary and university.
At the end of the ceremony, dozens of newly-published books of scientific merits were unveiled with the authors in attendance.
