AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): A memorandum of understanding has been signed between Imam Reza International University and the Iraqi Al-Furatain Higher Education Institute.
In his visit to northeastern Iranian city of Mashhad, research deputy of the Iraqi Al-Furatain Higher Education Institute, Dr. Hadi Katfan Al-Shoun, agreed upon some areas of cooperation such as developing strategic educational programs for undergraduate, post-graduate and doctorate students, running joint post-doc fellowships, creating joint capacities to supervise masters’ theses and PhD dissertations, long- and short-term academic courses, etc.
Imam Reza International University (IRIU) has also expressed readiness to hold international academic courses and seminars in humanities and inter-disciplinary fields as well as forming research groups on various areas.
IRIU has already been active in academic discussions and scientific interactions with a number of Iraqi educational and research institutes such as Al-Kut, Al-Amid and Alkafeel university colleges affiliated to Hazrat Abbas holy shrine, Al-Zahra University affiliated to Imam Hussein holy shrine, and University of Kufa.
Imam Reza International University is a result of outgrowth in educational initiatives undertaken by Astan Quds Razavi, the body in charge of Imam Reza holy shrine, and started its career in 2003.
