AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Allama Mohammad Iqbal Lahori, Pakistani Persian language poet, philosopher and Muslim thinker that most of whose works were written not in his native language but in Persian, is a common chapter in the deep and historical relations between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Pakistan.

November 9 was the 144th birthday of Allameh Iqbal known as Iqbal Lahori, a figure who is known as the "Poet of the East" and has written many poems in Persian and Urdu.

Iqbal was the first to introduce the idea of ​​an independent state to the Muslims of the subcontinent, which eventually led to the creation of Pakistan. Iqbal Lahore is officially called a "national poet" in this country.

Mohammad Iqbal Lahori considered freedom and justice as the most important requirement of human life. He was able to awaken in the minds of Muslims the idea of ​​Islamic awakening, which had previously been created by social reformers, and thus become known as one of the Islamic enlighteners.

Coinciding with the 9th of November, Allameh Iqbal Lahore"s birthday, numerous thinkers including professors and researchers from various universities in Pakistan in conferences, TV programs and meetings, elaborate on the role of Allameh Iqbal Lahore in reviving religious thought and reviving the spirit of freedom and independence for Muslims and the Islamic world.

Every year, the people of Pakistan celebrate November 9 as the birthday of Allama Iqbal Lahore. On this day, various Pakistani television and radio channels broadcast special programs about the life, works of this great figure, especially Iqbal"s poetry collection.

In a message on the occasion of Allameh Iqbal"s birthday, the President of Pakistan, Aref Alavi, referred to Iqbal"s aspirations and ideas about Pakistan"s progress and called on the people of his country to take part in resolving the problems and rebuilding their country. Iqbal passed away on April 21, 1938.
