AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Muslim worshipers have held glorious Friday prayers in Tehran despite the rainy weather while respecting social distancing due to observing COVID-19 protocols.
Holding the Friday prayers was on hold because of the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic for 20 months since February 2020.
This Friday prayers’ Imam was Ayatollah Seyyed Ahmad Khatami. Iranians from all walks of life including students and pupils took part in the religious event.
The Friday prayers is significant, because, it was held a day after November 4, which was designated as the Day of Fighting against Global Arrogance.
In the third clean air day since the beginning of this Iranian calendar year (started March 21, 2021), the Tehrani people prepared themselves for a rainy weather, brining umbrella with themselves.
Handicrafts made by students, conveying the message of a powerful Iran will stand against the United States’ arrogance, were displayed at the event.
Head of Iran's Civil Defense Organization Brigadier General Gholamreza Jalali made a speech before the start of the Friday prayers' first sermon, warning that enemies of the Islamic Republic have planned combined warfare strategies against the Iranian nation.
As to a cyberattack on Iran’s fuel distribution system, Jalali noted that the foes hatched a plot against the country to wreak havoc, but vigilance of people and media foiled the conspiracy.
Ayatollah Khatami pointed to the long history of hostilities by the United States, stressing that expressing resentment towards the US authorities is obligatory.
