Thailand to hold virtual contest on occasion of birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad and Unity Week

A special contest is set to be held in Thailand on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and the Unity Week.

AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): A special contest is set to be held in Thailand on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and the Unity Week.

Titled “the model of good ethics of Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH)”, the competition has been organized by the cultural section of the Iranian embassy to Thailand and is comprised of three sections: poems, painting, and video clips.

The event will be hosted by Al-Zahra school, and students from elementary to high school levels can take part in the contest. A special section for the families has also been devised.

Mahdi Hassankhani, Iranian cultural attaché in Thailand said the event is aimed at proximity of Muslims around the characteristic of the great Prophet (PBUH).

The event will be held with the active participation of those who will build the future and will try to offer the Seerah of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) as a model for ethics in the society, he said.

According to Islamic Culture and Communication Organization, participants can send their works to the event as of October 19 for one week.

The 17th day of Rabi al-Awwal, which falls on November 3 this year, is believed by Shia Muslims to mark the birth anniversary of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH), while Sunni Muslims regard the 12th day of the month as the birthday of the last prophet.

The interval between the two dates is celebrated every year as the Islamic Unity Week.

Late Founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran Imam Khomeini (RA) declared the occasion as the Islamic Unity Week back in the 1980s.
