Voting for enemies of Hashd Al-Shaabi, supporters of presence of occupying forces, Haram: Ayatollah Haeri

Grand Ayatollah Sayed Kazem Haeri emphasized, “It is haram to choose (vote for) anyone who is the enemy of the Al-Hashd Al-Shabi forces, or anyone who seeks to integrate Al-Hashd Al-Shabi with the security forces in order to weaken or eliminate them, or try to fight the values as well as Iraqi Mujahedeen to seek the consent of the enemies and the corrupt.”

AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Grand Ayatollah Sayed Kazem Haeri emphasized, “It is haram to choose (vote for) anyone who is the enemy of the Al-Hashd Al-Shabi forces, or anyone who seeks to integrate Al-Hashd Al-Shabi with the security forces in order to weaken or eliminate them, or try to fight the values as well as Iraqi Mujahedeen to seek the consent of the enemies and the corrupt.”

Grand Ayatollah Sayed Kazem Haeri, an Iraqi Shiite Marja, issued a statement on the country’s parliamentary elections.

In his statement, while pointing out that it is Haram to vote for the enemies of Al-Hashd Al-Shabi, he emphasized, “It is haram to choose (vote for) anyone who is the enemy of the Al-Hashd Al-Shabi forces, or anyone who seeks to integrate Al-Hashd Al-Shabi with the security forces in order to weaken or eliminate it, or to try to fight the values as well as Iraqi Mujahedeen to seek the consent of the enemies and the corrupt.”

The English translation of Grand Ayatollah Haeri’s statement, originally issued in Arabic, is as follows:

In the Name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful

In the Holy Quran,

“وَلْتَكُنْ مِنْكُمْ أُمَّةٌ يَدْعُونَ إِلَى الْخَيْرِ وَيَأْمُرُونَ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ وَيَنْهَوْنَ عَنِ الْمُنْكَرِ ۚ وَأُولَٰئِكَ هُمُ الْمُفْلِحُونَ”

(Let there arise out of you a band of people inviting to all that is good, enjoining what is right, and forbidding what is wrong: They are the ones to attain felicity.) (Holy Quran, Surah: Al Imran, Verse: 104)

Also, verse 22 of Surah Al-Mujadilah reads,

(Thou wilt not find any people who believe in Allah and the Last Day, loving those who resist Allah and His Messenger, even though they were their fathers or their sons, or their brothers, or their kindred. For such He has written Faith in their hearts, and strengthened them with a spirit from Himself. And He will admit them to Gardens beneath which Rivers flow, to dwell therein (for ever). Allah will be well pleased with them, and they with Him. They are the Party of Allah. Truly it is the Party of Allah that will achieve Felicity.) (Holy Quran, Surah: Al-Mujadilah, Verse: 22)

O brave nation of Iraq ... O my dear children:

Peace and blessings of God upon you

Iraq has gone through difficult times, and in this way, many sacrifices have been made to build a free Iraq with Islamic justice and human dignity, so that all citizens, regardless of their ethnicity and religion, feel like brothers and sisters, so that they can participate in leading their country and building their homeland. But what happened in Iraq after the overthrow of the Ba’athist regime was disappointing and far from a goal for which many sacrifices were made. For Iraq, pure blood has been sacrificed, the beginning of which was the martyrdom of the martyrs of Sadr; the American occupiers occupied Iraq; terrorism and terrorists entered the country; corruption spread, and the service infrastructures were destroyed.

Now, there is only a glimmer of hope left in the elections through which the worthy people can reach the executive and legislative branches. At each time, we have stressed the need for active and widespread participation in the elections, as well as the need to choose sincere and competent believers in maintaining the trust and acting responsibly and serving the people.

But the results of the last election were not satisfactory. For some reason, including the poor standards on which coalitions were formed, not enough qualified people entered parliament.

For this reason, elections must be free and transparent in order to form a parliament that is the true representative of the nation, and not subject to the will of the arrogant, who are the enemies of Iraq. Unfortunately, these flaws emerged in previous elections, which resulted in major flaws, including in the formation of governments, conflicts and security problems, the collapse of the economy, and the unprecedented intervening of the Zionists and the Americans in the security and destiny of the Iraqi people.

Accordingly, in the hope of changing the situation for the better, and closing the way of mercenaries and corrupters, I emphasize the following, which I have already emphasized in previous elections:

First: The need for active and widespread participation in the elections by going to the polls and voting, and not neglecting this issue;

Second: The need to elect believer and competent people to the parliament, whose goal is to serve their country and nation, with honesty and trustworthiness, who are known among the people for their good manners and behavior, and are away from the influences of the arrogant (US);

Third: It is haram to vote and approve anyone who calls for the occupation forces to remain in Iraq, or does not call for their expulsion;

Fourth: It is haram to choose anyone who is the enemy of the Al-Hashd Al-Shabi forces, or seeks to integrate Al-Hashd Al-Shabi them with the security forces to weaken or eliminate them, or try to fight the values as well as Iraqi Mujahedeen to seek the consent of the enemies and the corrupt.

I ask God Almighty for this election to lead to a government that satisfies the Iraqi people; a government that does its job in providing services, reform, the real fight against corruption, overcoming unemployment, caring for the youth, the deprived and the oppressed, maintaining Iraq’s independence from arrogant powers, and resisting any effort to normalize Iraq’s relations with the Zionist regime.

May God have mercy on the martyrs of Iraq, especially the two martyrs of Jihad and Resistance, Abu Mahdi Al-Mohandes and Haj Qassem Soleimani, and the rest of the martyrs of Islam.
