Pilgrims walk to Najaf for pilgrimage at  end of Safar month / Special coverage of this ceremony by ABNA

According to an ancient tradition, Iraqis travel to Najaf during the demise of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) to offer their condolences to the Imam Ali (AS), his successor and son-in-law.

AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): According to an ancient tradition, Iraqis travel to Najaf during the demise of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) to offer their condolences to the Imam Ali (AS), his successor and son-in-law.

The cities of Najaf and Kufa are covered in black for this occasion, and several processions have been set up to receive the mourning pilgrims of Imam Ali (as). Many of these pilgrims walk to Najaf.

Hence, it is now similar to the scenes seen on the roads of Karbala in the Arbaeen pilgrimage, on the roads leading to Najaf Ashraf; And men and women, old and young, with flags on their shoulders, for the love of pilgrimage to the "soul of the Prophet (PBUH)" during the demise of his brother and cousin, have taken this path.

Since this ceremony is not very well known among the people of Iran, the ABNA news agency covered the news of these rituals for the first time in 2015.

This continued after that; So that the people of Iran can get acquainted with it through news and pictures. This year, for the seventh consecutive year, ABNA News Agency will cover the news, images and reports of the "Day of Pilgrimage of Amir al-Mo'menin Ali bin Abi Talib" by sending special reporters and photos for the event.
