Zionist Regime opens embassy in Manama amid Bahrainis’ condemnation

Israeli regime’s embassy in Manama was inaugurated on Thursday amid protests of different Bahraini groups and figures against normalization.

AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Israeli regime’s embassy in Manama was inaugurated on Thursday amid protests of different Bahraini groups and figures against normalization.

The embassy inauguration was attended by Israeli Foreign Minister Yair Lapid and his Bahraini counterpart Abdullatif al-Zayani on Thursday. This is the first official visit of Lapid to Bahrain after the inking of the normalization agreement, known as the Abraham Accords.

The visit comes as Bahraini people and groups have voiced their protest against any normalization with the occupiers, Al-Ahed News reported.

In a statement, Al-Wefaq National Islamic Society strongly condemned the Israeli minister’s visit to Manama, saying, “This visit is strongly condemned and he should not set foot on Bahraini soil.”

Naming the visit as an insult to Bahraini soil, the statement added that the presence of Zionists in Bahrain is a desperate effort to break the promise of Bahrainis about supporting Palestine.

Meanwhile, Bahrain’s Islamic Action Society (Amal) vehemently condemned the visit, blaming Al Khalifa for accepting enemies against the will of the nation. The crimes of Zionists against Palestinians and the humanity will not be forgotten and elimination is the fate of enemies of the Islamic Ummah.

In another reaction, Seyed Majid al-Mashal, a top Bahraini cleric, took to Twitter to condemn the Israeli minister’s visit. “We are not saying welcome to the Zionist Foreign Minister: The Zionist regime is an occupier with no legitimacy.”

In addition, sporadic protests have been erupted in different Bahraini cities to protest.

The Abraham Accords were signed at the White House in September 2020 between Israel, Bahrain, and the United Arab Emirates. Morocco and Sudan later signed normalization agreements with the Israeli regime as well. Palestinians have denounced the normalization deals, describing them as a “stab in the back”.
