After criticizing the US policies;

A top Shia cleric arrested in Saudi Arabia

Saudi intelligence agency has arrested Jumaah Leader of "al-Awamiah" town of Shia dominated Saudi Province "al-Qatif", "Ayatollah Al-Sheikh Namer Baqir Al-Namer".

According to Ahl ul-Bayt News Agency "ABNA", the Saudi intelligence agency summoned Ayatollah al-Namer to the governor house of al-Qatif  and after arrested him and took him to a unknown place and still there is no information about his fate.

Sheikh Nemer is very popular among Saudi Shia Muslims and he is struggling for adjudication of the violated Shia rights in Saudi Arabia; so that once he had been arrested with a number of Saudi Shia Clerics in 2006. as well as he has periodical been summoned and interrogated by the intelligence agencies of Saudi kingdom. This is to point out that torturing Shia Ulema is committed usually in Saudi Arabia as its day to day customary. for example a prominant Shia Cleric and Al-Qatif,s Leader of Jumaah, Al-Sheikh Abd ul-Karim al_Jobeil has served his 9 year term of imprisonment in Saudi Prisons.

on recent Friday Ayatollah Namer declared in his Jumaah Speeches any US action against Iran illegitimate and urged: "Iran will have the right to target US interests in case of US attack against this country". urging on peaceful solution of Iranian civil neuclear program he justified the right of Iran to have its atomic activities for its own needs and warned that the United Stats may not compare Iran whit its neighboring country i.e. Iraq and the Iranian people are united under their Leadership and the will protect their ruling system which has granted them justice, freedom and independence.

This is mention worth that in addition to criticizing the US arrogance (استكبار) he has submitted his written charter of Shia rights on the same day (Friday)to the ruler of Eastern Saudi region through which he seeks the rights of Saudi Shia population in religious, educational and  political fields.

This is mentionable that the Shia population forms 20 percent of the total Saudi population and most of the Shia Muslims are the native residents of oil rich Eastern Saudi Shia dominated Region.
