Call for papers for 35th Islamic Unity Conference

The organizers of the 35th International Islamic Unity Conference have invited scholars, thinkers and experts to send their papers on the theme of the event.

AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): The organizers of the 35th International Islamic Unity Conference have invited scholars, thinkers and experts to send their papers on the theme of the event.

The 35th edition of the International Islamic Unity Conference will be organized virtually in October, during the Islamic Unity Week.

The main theme of this year’s conference is “Peace and Avoiding Discord”.

The topics to be discussed at the scholarly event include “Islamic Fraternity and Confronting Terrorism”, “Islamic sympathy and concord and avoiding tensions and conflicts”, “mutual respect among Islamic schools of thought”, “Palestine and Islamic resistance” and “commemorating Ayatollah Mohammad Ali Taskhiri”.

Those interested in taking part in the conference can register and submit their papers by October 4.

For more information visit the website of the conference here.

The conference is going to be organized online due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The 34th edition of the conference was also held virtually last year due to the pandemic.

More than 160 foreign speakers from 47 countries as well as 120 Iranian figures delivered speeches at the video-conference.

The 17th day of Rabi al-Awwal, which falls on November 3 this year, is believed by Shia Muslims to mark the birth anniversary of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH), while Sunni Muslims regard the 12th day of the month as the birthday of the last prophet.

The interval between the two dates is celebrated every year as the Islamic Unity Week.

Late Founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran Imam Khomeini (RA) declared the occasion as the Islamic Unity Week back in the 1980s.
