The Lebanese athlete, Abdullah Miniato, withdraws from an international MMA (Mixed martial arts) championship in Bulgaria to avoid challenging an Israeli opponent.

AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): The Lebanese athlete, Abdullah Miniato, withdraws from an international MMA (Mixed martial arts) championship in Bulgaria to avoid challenging an Israeli opponent.

The Lebanese fighter, Abdullah Miniato, and his coach, Muhammad Al-Gharbi, announced withdrawal from the World Championship in Mixed Martial Arts “MMA”, after the draw placed him against an Israeli player, in the tournament held in Bulgaria.

Abdullah Miniato did not delay in announcing his position on the match, but did so directly, as soon as he learned about the lottery, refusing to recognize “Israel” or to practice any form of normalization.

The Algerian judoka and African champion, Fathi Noreen, had also withdrawn from the Olympic Games, to avoid confronting an Israeli player, and the same step was taken by the Sudanese judoka, Mohamed Abdel Rasoul.

The Saudi player, Tahani Al-Qahtani, preferred submission and normalization, as she faced an Israeli player in judo competitions within “Tokyo 2020”, where she lost 0-13.
