It should be mentioned that Sheikh Hassan Malopa was one of the most famous commentators of the Quran and activists in the field of propagating the teachings of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) in Kenya.

Originally from the Kenyan island of Mombasa, he worked closely with the Al-Itra Institute in Dar es Salaam (Tanzania’s largest city) and on frequent and regular trips, translating Shiite Tafsir books and other books related to the AhlulBayt (a.s.) for that institution.

Many works of the late Malupa are left and used by the followers of the Shiite religion in Africa.

The Republic of Kenya is a country in East Africa with a population of about 48 million. According to the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly, the number of Shiites in Kenya was estimated at 560,000 in 2008.
