Shia Ulema Punjab ready to protest against discrimination of Mahakmah-e-Auqaf Panjab

Majlis-e-Wahdat-e-Muslimeen Punjab has intensified its contacts with the Punjab Assembly on June 21 in protest against discrimination of Secretary Auqaf Punjab with Millat-e-Jafaria and reduction of Shia members in government committees.

AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Majlis-e-Wahdat-e-Muslimeen Punjab has intensified its contacts with the Punjab Assembly on June 21 in protest against discrimination of Secretary Auqaf Punjab with Millat-e-Jafaria and reduction of Shia members in government committees.

Allama Abdul Khaliq Asadi, Secretary General, MWM Punjab, was assured of full participation in the demonstration by the Ulema of Lahore. The scholars said that we have learned the lesson of standing up for our rights from Karbala.

They said that whether it is the peace committee including the Muttahida Ulema Board of Punjab or other government institutions, a certain school of thought seems to be occupying them while the Millat-e-Jafaria is being ignored in all the institutions.

Allama Asadi said that the scholars of Lahore would prove by their full participation in this demonstration that they are patriotic citizens of Pakistan who are strong against injustice and oppression. He added that the attitude of bureaucracy across Punjab was biased against Shia community as the baseless cases were registered while the founding councils were also harassed.

He said that the government should take notice of this discrimination. Even in the state of Madinah, policies are being formulated based on sectarian thinking, which is highly deplorable.
