AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Scores of women on Sunday staged a protest in Srinagar against the Fashion show being organized amid covid-19 by a group named J-K Youth Society at Tagore Hall in Srinagar.
The women marched from Nehru Park to SKICC, where the event was held in which dozens of youth participated as models, designers, dancers, rap artists, and stand-up comedians.
Speaking to Media a woman protestor said such events have no place in a society like Kashmir. “We have not been forced to come here by anyone, but we will speak against what is against our culture and religion.”
She said that in the name of clothes, shamelessness and vulgarity are being promoted in Kashmir.
“Such fashion shows are promoted to spread vulgarity in our younger generation which is against the basic ethos of Kashmir and Islam,” the protesting woman said, adding, “We will not remain silent against such attempts which want to give a hoax image of Kashmir to the outside world.”
