Astan Quds Razavi distributes iftar meals among people of Mashhad

During the holy month of Ramadan, Astan Quds Razavi distributes iftar meals among the pilgrims of Imam Reza (AS) holy shrine.

AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): During the holy month of Ramadan, Astan Quds Razavi distributes iftar meals among the pilgrims of Imam Reza (AS) holy shrine.

Amin Behnam, head of Imam Reza (AS) Holy Shrine’s Deputy Office for Pilgrim Services stated that considering the presence of pilgrims at the time of the evening prayer call in the holy shrine during Ramadan, the valuable tradition of iftar is being performed.

He pointed out that iftar packages are distributed among the pilgrims after the evening and night prayers and each package includes a complete set of food items such as bread, cheese, milk, dates, raisins, walnuts and dessert.

“Over 20,000 packages are distributed among the pilgrims every night and according to the plans, by the end of Ramadan, a total of about 600,000 iftar packages will be distributed,” he said.

According to Behnam, people willing to make iftar donation can do so through three methods of the Razavi Endowment and Vow system or “Rezvan” application, and also by entering the code *8# in the mobile phone.

“The number of packages distributed is expected to increase to 30,000 or more if the coronavirus conditions and public participation in this Ramadan project in Mashhad do not get worse,” he noted.
He also reminded that during the month of Ramadan, pilgrims could use the 780 call system and Iranian citizens can aid the iftar system by paying electronically to this system announced by AQR.

“Due to the more difficult conditions of the virus in the city of Mashhad, all servants and officials of the holy shrine will observe the protocols strictly and congregational prayers are held in accordance with all health procedures and only in the courtyards of the holy shrine,” he underscored.
