AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Government of Punjab province of Pakistan assures withdrawal of cases against Shia mourners which the biased police cops registered in violation of the Constitutionally-guaranteed rights of Shia citizens.
Provincial Law Minister Raja Basharat gave this categorical assurance to Majlis-e-Wahdat-e-Muslimeen (MWM) leaders.
Allama Ahmed Iqbal Rizvi-led MWM delegation comprised of Abdul Khaliq Asadi, Asad Abbas Naqvi and MPA Syeda Zahra Naqvi.
During their meeting, the minister assured that Punjab government would resolve issues of Shia Muslim citizens in the province.
Furthermore, he assured that the government would order withdrawal of cases registered against azadars for azadari amid Coronavirus related restrictions.
Raja Basharat also assured to ensure justice to Shia notables named in the IVth schedule.
Due to his assurance, Allama Abdul Khaliq Asadi called-off protest in Lahore and Chiniot.
However, he warned that they would announce protest of the Punjab government fails to meet their demands by June 04, 2021.
On the other hand, Shia Ulema Council also had announced protest against false cases against Shia mourners (azadars).
They have held a joint protest long march in Sindh where the azadars faced similar situation.
However, Sindh government assured to withdraw those false cases. Because of that assurance, the SUC Sindh chapter called off protest.
