International analyst: Intensification of Zionist regime domestic crisis

A professor of international relations in the Faculty of the World Studies of the University of Tehran says under the present circumstances, the main challenge of Benjamin Netanyahu is the judicial case and financial corruption allegations against him.

AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Elham Kadkhodaei said that the latest opinion polls indicate that the Likud Party will gain the highest number of seats in the upcoming elections even though such seats have decreased and it is already evident it cannot gain the majority of the seats.

Referring to the internal developments of the Zionist regime, she said “elections which are going to be held in the next several weeks are indeed the fourth elections in two years in Israel and of course it has not been a strange or unpredictable issue. Right from the beginning of building a coalition between the Likud Party and the Blue White Party of Gantz, Israeli experts anticipated an unstable coalition which may collapse anytime.”

She said that the collapse of the Bleu White Party began from day one.

“When Gantz acted against his numerous election promises including his determination not to enter into coalition with Netanyahu, under the excuse of the Covid-19 crisis and special conditions of Israel, he formed a coalition and his party went into turmoil. Many important members withdrew from this coalition which also lost its public support.”

The end of the political destiny of Gantz and his party

This professor of the University of Tehran said that Gantz is not an experienced politician as he is a former military personnel who decided to enter politics, adding that “he did not mark much success and now most experts believe that his political destiny has ended and there is no hope he and his party would be influential in the future of Israeli politics. This is more blamed on the blunder Gants made and there is less hope he will be an influential figure of the political future of Israel.”

Kadkhodaei said Netanyahu is a very experienced person in politics and he is not fighting only for his or his party’s political future but he is also fighting for his personal fate due to judicial cases and financial corruption allegation he faces in the court.

“Therefore, Netanyahu is much motivated than his rivals to fight for his political life and he is therefore using all the tools and experience to defeat his rivals and remain in power for the maximum possible time.”

Likud will win the highest seats in the upcoming elections

According to Kadkhodaei, the latest opinion polls indicate that the Likud Party has the highest number of seats in the upcoming elections. Even though the number of such seats has decreased, and it will not have the majority of the seats, we should wait to see to what extent opposition parties of Likud can set aside their differences and stand against Likud or to what extent they will surrender to Netanyahu and enter into coalition with him under the temptation of power and proposed ministerial posts.

This expert of West Asia and North Africa affairs said Naftali Bennett who was once an ally to Netanyahu and his party Yamna will be having a determining role in the upcoming elections.

“If Bennett and his party enter into coalition with Netanyahu, their power will be guaranteed again. Even though the outcome of the elections is unpredictable, Bennett has a remarkable chance. Of course, a coalition may not be constructed like the previous times so that he can have the majority and the government may not be formed.”

Referring to the special relationship between the United States and Israel in all governments, Kadkhodaei said Netanyahu is a graduate of an American university and has resided in the US for many years. Therefore, he is familiar with the American culture and this issue is very influential in his political career.

She said some measures such as peace accords and the issue of the relocation of the embassy has created a positive image for Netanyahu, adding that the absence of full support by Trump for Netanyahu cannot end in his defeat in the upcoming elections as in spite of the many protests against Netanyahu, the Israeli society has inclined much in recent years to the rightists and right parties.

Netanyahu is a professional showman

Kadkhodaei said Netanyahu is a professional showman and tries to influence the attitudes of others and inject his personal ideas to the mind of his audience, adding that under the present conditions, the main challenge of Netanyahu is his judicial case and allegations that exist against him being financially corrupt. This challenge will be more sensitive to the change of government or change in the ruling party in the White House.

Ambiguity towards the future of the Zionist regime

This professor of the Faculty of the World Studies referred to the remarks by an Israeli security official on the domestic crisis in this regime and the probability of its collapse in the near future, saying that “the failure to gain the majority of seats by the parties in the past two years would be unprecedented and strange, no matter how democracy will be dynamic. Such instability would create serious problems and challenges. Current uncertainties will be in favor of Netanyahu and his judicial case and have caused him to remain in power.”

He emphasized that under the current conditions, Israel is moving towards instability as it is a real and important challenge in making decisions in various areas including the control of Covid-19.

“Israel is trying hard to introduce itself as the only democracy of the Middle East. They have heavily invested from the propaganda point of view. However, the unfolding events in Israel truly indicate that this regime in the best can be described as a replica of democracy. Definitely such a lie and fabrication (Israeli democracy) cannot sustain and it will be clarified that this is not an integrated democracy to work and function.”

She said this replica of democracy would soon face problems as we are presently witness to the emergence of this problem. In fact, this Zionist system seeks to keep people such as Netanyahu in power. The mechanism of this system works when a person with serious judicial cases and allegations can hold his political power. He is seeking to change the law so that his judicial cases are resolved and the power of the Supreme Court is diminished.

Referring to the many voices and protests in Israel against Netanyahu and his actions against the so-called Israeli democracy, she said “in general, it is not a surprise that officials inside Israel and analysts are casting doubt on the survival of the Zionist regime and its capability to resolve its problems.”
