Over 8 thousand people participate in contest on life of Prophet in Dagestan

More than 8 thousand people from all municipalities of Dagestan took part in the nationwide contest on “Basis of Religion and Life of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him).

AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): More than 8 thousand people from all municipalities of Dagestan took part in the nationwide contest on “Basis of Religion and Life of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him).

The wide geography of the participants of the competition testifies the sincere love of the Dagestan people for the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), as well as the striving for obtaining religious knowledge. The contest, organized by the Dagestan Muftiyat, was held in three stages.

On February 21, the organizers announced the names of the winners and awardees during a solemn event held in Makhachkala’s “Russia My History park”.

The event gathered the employees of the Muftiyat headed by Chairman, Shamil Alikhanov, Acting Minister for National Policy and Religious Affairs of the region, Enrik Muslimov, religious figures and nasheed performers, as well as the finalists of the contest.

On behalf of the Mufti of Dagestan, Sheikh Ahmad Afandi, Shamil Alikhanov conveyed greetings to the present and expressed gratitude to the finalists of the contest for their aspiration and reverent attitude towards studying the life of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). “Studying the life of the Messenger of Allah strengthens our love for him. And love for the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) is the basis of fear of God,” the Muftiyat Chairman said.

The event was accompanied with nasheeds performed by the famous singers and groups: Sultan Tramov, Nashidul-Islam group, Ruslan Hasanov and Ramazan Medzhidov.

The event finished with the announcement of the results of the contest “Basis of religion and biography of the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh).”
