AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): The Biden administration, unlike former US presidents, who also took over the leadership and hegemony of the United States at the inauguration, is taking over America from Trump that its world power has waned through a weakened foreign policy, its Covid effected economy is struggling to stand on its own two feet and democracy has stopped there.
What we are witnessing in the United States these days is a political disgrace and a fundamental weakness in the foundation and structure of American democracy, which in the 2020 election confiscated 160 million American votes in the deception of the Democratic and Republican parties. It became a place for power struggles to stay in the White House or reach the White House. Trump’s actions, which sparked a civil war or a silent coup, resulted that remaining in power is a part of a new American democracy.
Recent developments in the United States that have forced the National Army to conquer the streets and Congress of the United States by passing cannons and tanks over the 250-year-old democracy of the United States have introduced new concepts of new-style democracy. A democracy that can be another form of government of the people over the people.
The result of the political behavior of both the Democratic and Republican parties showed that the new meaning of the new democracy, which was initiated by both the Democratic and Republican parties, could even be “government of the people against the people.” With the occupation of the US Congress by the National Army, the process of entering the White House has become trans-democratic, which in the current concepts of democracy can be called absolute democracy.
This kind of democracy, with the appointments that began in the Biden administration, could have the effect of pushing the left-leaning tendencies of the Democratic Party and the Biden administration into far-right foreign policy.
America’s most important loss during Trump’s tenure was a lack of accurate understanding of regional and international developments. Certainly, the Biden administration intends to return to relations and the international community with a lesson from the Trump era, and will pursue the goal of how to achieve the desired economic growth rate in the Corona virus crisis, and along with it, gaining a significant share of the global market for US exports.
The economic challenges with China and Europe, which paved the way for the security of this challenge with China under Trump, are a great pain that has no way back. Because the Chinese are well prepared to face the United States economically and militarily. The US economy, on the other hand, is dependent on the Asia-Pacific (RCEP) tariff agreement centered on China and with US allies including Japan, South Korea and Australia; And the economic and trade agreement with the European Union is so entangled that it is not easily conceivable. These conditions will pose a serious challenge to the Biden administration to create balance or political and economic supremacy on the world stage.
The new US administration must know that it is not facing a peaceful Asia and Europe, and that diplomacy and political militarism alone cannot make up for America’s backwardness in world economic and trade relations. Biden’s serious challenge is still in Asia, which has trapped the United States in the labyrinth of the continent since the Vietnam War, Afghanistan and Iraq, and now JCPOA.
Given the circumstances, the Biden administration has no choice but to add “political intelligence” to US foreign policy as part of US policy of leadership and supremacy, previously pursued through diplomacy and political militarism.
In recent years, the CIA has made great efforts to attract technical knowledge in the field of advanced technology and artificial intelligence from other countries of the world, especially Germany and Europe. Recently, the CIA secretly purchased advanced technologies in the field of artificial intelligence from German companies with patents and the right to use intellectual property, led by the purchase of Start-Ups.
Following these efforts, William Burns was nominated for the post of CIA director, an undercover diplomat and undercover envoy; And the election of David Cohen, the man of economic sanctions during the Obama administration, is a significant event.
William Burns is the current president of the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, which specializes in human genetics and mastering the genetics of living things and their mastery of the “life” of the earth. In recent years, this complex has played a pivotal role in the emergence of molecular genetics and genetic changes in humans. The role of this foundation in shaping and accelerating knowledge processes related to plant genetics for food security has also been very sensitive and serious.
Trump did not pay much attention to the military and security because he did not want to fight for the interests of big business and the media. But the nature of Biden’s choices shows that he will rely more on military and security institutions in foreign policy and national security, unlike Trump, and that his views and strategies in foreign and security policy are of particular importance to him.
Accordingly, the magic of the Biden government has begun with the appointment to some key positions in the United States. Joe Biden has appointed Burns, a former acting secretary and deputy secretary of state, and a prominent US diplomat to head the CIA. Of course, the mistake that Trump made about Pompeo and paralyzed US diplomacy and foreign policy by appointing him Secretary of State will not be repeated in the case of the CIA. It should not be assumed that electing Burns as a diplomat to head a professional security apparatus outside of diplomacy is like transplanting a human kidney into a wild ox, certainly it is not in this way.
The Biden team is updating US policies to address the challenges of the 21st century, particularly the dominance of artificial intelligence in dealing with non-aligned countries and food security.
Biden will seek to regulate foreign relations on the international stage, using the CIA’s capabilities, and to use political intelligence diplomacy in the face of China, Russia, and Iran, which pose a serious threat to national security. Therefore, the CIA’s future task and program is to compensate for or contribute to the weakness of the US strategic foresight in global interactions and influence.
Burns and Cohen’s views on US strategic policy toward China, Russia, Europe, and even Iran could have a profound effect on the formation of the Biden administration’s foreign policy and future US relations with the rest of the world. The Biden administration is preparing for enmity with Russia, an excuse for China, and a conditional return to the JCPOA agreement with Iran, which could spark Iran’s nuclear activities to acquire nuclear weapons.
However, the Biden government’s priorities are to try to find solutions to internal problems. But the selection of Burns and Cohen to lead the CIA shows that Biden’s approach to China, Russia and Iran under the new White House administration pays more attention to the views of diplomats, the military and the security forces, and further sanctions.
